Teaching Award Recipient 2008-09
Dr. Charles Toth
Biology
“One important aspect of my teaching is to place an emphasis on how each class and topic influences the lives of the students or the human condition in general. I decided to become a biomedical researcher and college professor in order to motivate students to enter a career involved with the betterment of human health. If students see how my research or the research of others can make inroads with specific disease states, it may influence or motivate a student to embark on such a career path. This has the potential to motivate the students to engage in meaningful training or work in their career choice. Thus, by being animated and engaging (hopefully) in the classroom or laboratory, this may have the chance of inspiring students as they take a course or do research with me.”
